Terms of Use
These terms cover your use of the Saffron app. They are written to be read, not to be impressive. By using Saffron you agree to them.
Who you are agreeing with
Saffron is made and run by one person, not a company. Everything below is between you and whoever is on the other end of saffronrecipesapp@gmail.com.
What Saffron is
An app for keeping recipes. You describe a dish out loud, Saffron turns what you said into an editable recipe card, and you can plan a week from what you have saved and share it with people you choose.
Your account
You need to be at least 16 to have an account. Keep your Apple ID secure, because that is what gets into your account. You are responsible for what happens under it.
Your recipes stay yours
You own what you put into Saffron. You give us permission to store it, back it up, sync it between your devices, and show it to the people you have chosen to share it with. That is the entire extent of it. We do not claim ownership of your recipes, we do not use them to train anything, and we do not use them for any purpose other than running the app for you.
Sharing, and what it means
Recipes are private until you turn sharing on. Once someone can see a recipe, they can save their own copy of it, and that copy is theirs. Turning sharing off later, or removing someone as a friend, stops them seeing anything new. It does not reach into their cookbook and remove copies they already saved. Share accordingly.
Rules
Do not use Saffron to:
- break the law, or help anyone else to
- harass, threaten or abuse another person
- impersonate someone else
- upload content you have no right to share
- interfere with the service, or try to get at other people's data
You can report a person or a recipe from inside the app. We read every report. We may remove content or suspend an account that breaks these rules, and for serious cases we will do so without warning.
Saffron Pro
Saffron is free to use, with limits. The free tier includes a fixed number of dictations turned into recipes and a fixed number of saved recipes. The current limits are shown in the app.
Saffron Pro removes both limits and adds the weekly meal planner and the ability to create a household. Joining a household someone else created, and using the friends features, stay free.
- If a free trial is offered, its length and the price after it are shown before you buy.
- Subscriptions are billed by Apple and renew automatically until you cancel.
- Cancel any time in your App Store settings, at least 24 hours before the next renewal date. Cancelling stops the next payment; it does not end the period you have already paid for.
- Refunds are handled by Apple under their policy, not by us. We cannot issue them.
- We may change prices or what is included. Changes apply to future renewals, never retroactively, and you will be told before one takes effect.
About the automatic recipe step
Turning your dictation into a structured recipe is done automatically, and it gets things wrong. It mishears words, and it can get a quantity, a temperature or a time wrong. Always read a recipe through before you cook it.
Do not rely on Saffron for anything where a mistake matters, including allergies, dietary restrictions, and food safety. It is a notebook that listens, not an authority.
Availability
We do our best to keep Saffron running, but we do not promise it will always be available or free of faults. We may change features, and we may stop offering the app. If we discontinue it we will give notice and a way to get your recipes out.
Liability
Saffron is provided as it is. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for lost data where you have not kept your own copy.
Nothing here removes rights you have by law. If you are a consumer in the EU or the UK, your statutory rights apply regardless of what this page says, and nothing in these terms limits our liability for death, personal injury, or fraud.
Ending it
You can delete your account at any time in Settings, under Account. That removes your data as described in the Privacy Policy. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these rules.
Changes to these terms
If these terms change, the date at the top of this page changes with them. Continuing to use Saffron after a change means you accept it.
Where you stand legally
There is no clause here picking a country's law and imposing it on you. If you are a consumer, the law of the country you live in applies and you can bring a claim in your local courts, which is what you are entitled to anyway.
